Who is “The Wife”?

That’s me, the lacrosse wife, with lacrosse coach and lax addict husband, Coach Woody Kiser.

In the photo above, we’re at a Washington Stealth box lacrosse game.

Since this photo was taken, the Stealth have moved to Vancouver, and we’ve moved to Austin, Texas. Coach is now working with the Westlake JV team after founding and being the head varsity coach of Mount Si Lacrosse in Snoqualmie, Washington from 2010-2013.

I grew up in a lax family. I was born in New York, my dad and my uncles grew up in the New York City area and played lacrosse. My dad’s first job was to be the ball boy at Hofstra lacrosse games. My uncle was amazing, he was an All-American at Adelphi and played in the Long Island Lacrosse Club, back before the MLL and NLL ever existed. And my cousin played at Air Force having never even played in high school.  My dad later went on to found a massive girls lacrosse program in Minnesota and coached girls for ten years before retiring.

I love lacrosse because it’s for everyone — fast, slow, short, tall, young, old. It doesn’t exclude anyone, which is another reason I think the Creator is behind it.

I’m working on a new venture tentatively called Grow The Game Lacrosse, to put tiny lacrosse sticks in tiny hands and quietly fund new lacrosse programs in parts of the USA that haven’t been introduced to the Creator’s Game just yet.
